Why Does A Laser Temp Gun Go Round When I Shake?

OK - so here is my question for those who know better. I have a laser thermometer. If I point it at the door with my elbow on the table and then shake my elbow uncontrollably, I get a near perfect circle or slight oval on the door. I find that quite interesting as I expected a random movement of the laser dot.
