I've just now read a post from a few months back in which Alex, responding to a question about WM7, Mango, etc, expressed reluctance to begin development of PI on another new platform. So, stimulated by the BUILD demo of Windows 8, I wanted to ask if there was any change in WebIS plans for the Windows platform. Waiting to see how the Nokia phones do? Waiting for Win 8 release? I realise that - even if you ARE planning to begin coding - it would be a long time before anything was testable. So, just asking....

Sync PI9 on WM 6.5

Does PI9 on a WM 6.5 device sync projects with a Windows desktop or cloud service? If so, how? I am at least three months from upgrading to an iOS device and I hope there is a way to sync my WM 6.5 phone with somthing.

As it appears that WebIS no longer provide support for WM platforms, this may be the only place to go!
My Ipaq HP 214 has been running PI quite well for some time. It has now developed an annoying practice of freezing on a regular basis, usually when multiple Reminders are pending. The seizure is so severe that I cannot 'stop' the program from within 'Running Prigrams' and have to resort to 'soft resets'.
Unless anyone can make some useful suggestions, I may have to, sadly, look at other applications for my PDA; that would be a pity as I have been very pleased with PI.

Anyone able to help?

Folks,

I upgraded to Outlook 2010.

Last year I ran the beta but downgraded back to 2003 in August when I didn't have the funds to buy 2010.

Plan Plus 6 ran fine with the Beta but not with the GA version of Outlook 2010 I got the other day.

So I upgraded to Plan Plus seven (7) and went through the hoops needed to get it working.

But Now I get an error message from the Plan Plus Pocket Informant Sync tool saying

"This version of Plan Plus has not been unlocked and the trial period has expired. Enter a valid product key in Plan Plus to unlock this version.

Problem is I already entered a valid product key.

Ideas anyone?

Reinstalling PI

Hi guys,

As a well needed firmware update was released for my HTC HD2 phone, I tried to follow the confusing explanations given on the following page

and after reinstalling PI9 using the installer I found here http://download.pocketinformant.com/9/
and my serial number but I am now wondering what I should do to get PI as it was before, meaning all the context/projects I had previously created.

I had assumed I could just use the Import function but my context and projects still don t appear.

Anything I forgot?

Exporting Tasks

Hello

I'm looking for some advise please, on migrating my tasks from my phone.

I've been using PI on my WM6 phone for nearly 4 years and on my WM2003 iPaq for years before that. It's a great programme.

My current set up is that I manage my tasks from my phone using PI. I have SPB backup which backs them up to an .exe file on the microSD card. Then I take regular copies of the microSD card to my desktop PC.

For day to day running I use Mobile ActiveSync to sync to my Google account - however this cannot cope with Tasks. So everything, apart from my Tasks, are linked up nicely to the Google account.

I need to find a way to get my Tasks from the WM machine into my Google account.

Please note that I do not have access to Desktop ActiveSync as I run Linux on all my PCs.

Any help would be much appreciated.

How to get Task Complete dialog back

Hi,

Using Pocket Informant 9. It has stopped giving me the mark this task complete? dialog. It used to be a matter of deleting the "Mark_Complete" in the Settings file, but there doesn't seem to be one in PI9.
So how do I get the dialog back? Thanks much.

task context and Outlook

Hi,
I use PI 9 (on HTC with wm 6.5) . Up to now for manage contacts and calender.
I want also use some task, with context @home , @work.
In PI on HTC the context filter works great, so I see only task for home or work.

But in Outlook 2010 I can not find the context. There are all task mixed.
Are the context lost during sync to outlook?
If so, I have to uses use categories @home , @work instead of context?
The categories are available in outlook.

In the PI 9 Usergide is a section "Pocket Informant� Features not supported in Outlook" :
But there is no info about context.

Task Context crash

I was entering a task (I use GTD) and I added a context and then saved the task.
PI went back to a screen that showed a blue arrow to the left (I would press it to go back to the main list of inbox, projects, tasks etc) and my currently selected context.
If I click the blue arrow or try to change the context, PI crashes with "CEDialog:: at 11:08:08 am had an internal crash. Now closing program".

I reboot and try entering a new task. This works fine if I just enter a task name and save it.
If I enter a new task and then try to enter a context, I get the same crash.

It seems like somehow the contexts are messed up.
How can I fix them.
How can I fix the problem without loosing all my tasks?
I am not synced to a windows computer. I use a MAC and do not sync my PDA to anything. I just backup with sprite. My backup is a little out of date and I would loose many tasks if I restored from it.

I have PI for WM 9.1, and have some bugs. It's possible they have already been fixed in newer passes, but I cant find anywhere, the pass number of the "last" stable build of PI for WM.

It is a pity that there is no more support but I understand. If and when I upgrade my phone from WM to something else, be sure that the first program I get will be PI

Now that PI for WM is end-of-lifed and support has stopped, can you *please* keep the forum available? This way, I feel kicked out with no alternative to turn to with questions and tips on the use of PI9 on my Dell Axim (still going strong).

The stats of the forum User Tips and Tricks > Windows Mobile Users > Pocket Informant for WM stats show there are supposed to be 1760 topics with a total of 6249 replies. But only *1 page* is visible!

Can you please, *please*, enable access to all those old and not so old topics again?

(so I can find out whether someone else has some experience or tips on syncing PI9 with Toodledo)

GTD in PI9?

I have just upgraded to version 9. Could someone point me to a walkthrough of how the new GTD features are meant to be used? I'm sure there's more than one way to do it, but an overview of a real workflow would help. The documentation doesn't really show how it all fits together.

I'm used to using categories for contexts, and also for Waiting, etc. Do the new special-purpose fields really work better? How does it handle tasks that belong in two or more contexts?

Hello,

normaly in the outlook calendar i press and hold my pen and starts a new entry. The starting will be set automatic with the time i hold on. But in the PI9 calendar it always beginn with 00:00. Can anybody help me.

Contacts fixed height

how can I set fixed height for contact list? Anytime the list is rendered, each contact gets the same initial height but within few seconds they change height accoding to information found (phone, address, email), each contact has different height after few seconds. I want to edit some contact but in the meanwhile it moves somewhere else so I press the wrong one.

Notes stopped syncing to Outlook?

I thought this was a known issue, but now I can't find any information on it. I was using PI9 and syncing with Outlook. For some reason, all of the notes ended up only on my phone, and not in Outlook. I don't know how this happened. The problem is that I have now switched to an Android phone and would like all of my notes on there. I would like to get my Notes back into Outlook, so that I can sync them again. Does anybody know how I can get my Notes back into Outlook from PI9?

If I'm not mistaken, you can see the note of an appointment, task, contact, etc., in two views. You can see them as part of the entry or in a separate pane, by selecting "Notes" from the Menu. I prefer the latter "Notes" view, because it displays the character formats that were given to the note text.

However, one gripe I have with the "Notes" view in a separate pane is that I can't seem to touch scroll the notes pane but have to use the scroll bar on the right. Is my understanding correct? It would be really convenient if I could touch scroll the note text in the Notes view too.

problem sending appointment by bleutooth

Hello I am trying the software and when I try to send an appointment by bluetooth, it searches for devices and it finds nothing, so that devices are available. Is this a bug?
I click and I kept the appointment you want, and I selected "envyer par IR" (in french, so en "english send via IR"). He asked for patience but it can not find.
