How often do we update?
Our philosophy is that updates should occur after extensive testing and worthwhile improvements are developed. This may mean new features, but typically mean an improvement of current features.
To that end, we typically try to come out with meaningful releases about once every three months. This allows us to gather feedback on current releases and improve the quality of our software in small increments rather than huge updates once or twice a year.
If an issue arises such as an installer issue, a major bug, customer service issue, or a compatibility issue caused by outside factors (like an OS service pack or new popular third party software), we may release a fix to the module affected as a patch as well as update current installers. Sometimes a bug count may look large, but many times a bug we fix and document in these logs are edge cases or bugs that only a few people see.
Our goal is to make sure that we update as often as we need to, but not to update because we have to.
